Commenting on military solution for Syria irrelevant: Bulgarian Defense Minister

SOFIA, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Bulgarian Defense Minister Angel Naydenov on Thursday said that commenting on a military solution for Syria was irrelevant and his country was not able to participate in direct warfare.

Bulgaria insisted on political dialogue and political solution for Syria, and "these options have not been exhausted, so I find it inappropriate commenting on a military solution," Naydenov told reporters after an anti-aircraft drill by the Bulgarian Army and Serbian anti-aircraft missile brigade at Shabla Air Defense Range on the Black Sea coast.

"Bulgaria does not have the ability to directly participate in direct combat operations," Naydenov said.

However, he said that regardless of the source of the chemical attack in Syria, it deserved the strongest and most severe punishment.
