CAIRO, March 27 (Xinhua) -- The Egyptian navy on Wednesday foiled three men's attempt to cut an internet cable in the Mediterranean in the northern governorate of Alexandria, state-run Ahram online reported.
The naval forces arrested the three men in diving suits on a boat near Shattby beach when they attempted to cut the cable, the report quoted a security source as saying, adding that the three were referred to investigative authorities.
This is the second incident of its kind since Friday, when two cables in the Mediterranean got cut, which reduced the speed of the internet service by 30 percent for a couple of days.
