PLA Hong Kong Garrison recruits Xinjiang Uygur female soldiers

The officers and men of the Training Regiment of the Shenzhen Base under the Hong Kong Garrison of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) greeted ten Xinjiang Uygur female soldiers at 17:00 on December 25, 2012. This is the first time for the PLA Hong Kong Garrison to recruit female soldiers of ethnic minorities from northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

According to a briefing, most of the ten female soldiers specially recruited to the PLA Hong Kong Garrison are undergraduates and fresh graduates of a good character and scholarship of local colleges and universities.
