BEIJING, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) announced Wednesday that it has appointed Peng Qinghua as secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region's CPC committee.
Peng's predecessor Guo Shengkun will be appointed to a different position, according to the announcement.
Peng, 55, used to work in the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and once served as director of the central government's liaison office in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
Wang Ercheng, vice head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, announced the appointment at an official meeting in Guangxi.
