Famous pop culture, fashion and current affairs magazine Vanity Fair has published its international best-dressed list for 2013, covering celebrities worldwide ranging from movie stars, designers, models, writers, artists and politicians to royal family members.
American actress Kerry Washington tops the list, followed by American actor Justin Timberlake. Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge who just gave birth to Prince George of Cambridge, ranks third. She makes the list a consecutive fourth time since first appearing on it in 2008.
Other royal companions on the list include Princess Letizia of Asturias, Spain, and Princess Madeleine of Sweden.
One of the highlights of the fashion industry's strict selection this year, is China's new First Lady Peng Liyuan, the only Asian celebrity to make it onto the list. Known for her fashionable yet low-key elegance, Peng favors smart suits, sensible handbags and anything by China-made brand Exception. Her high-profile husband and her title of UN World Health Organization Goodwill Ambassador make her a new style icon.
America's first lady, Michelle Obama, has been excluded from this year's list.
American pop music star Beyonce Knowles, American burlesque performer Dita von Teese and English Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards appear on the list for the first time.
