The grand final of the 3rd Paris-China International Fashion Week Model Contest was held in Wuhan, the capital of Central China’s Hubei Province. After several rounds of competition, Miss Zhang Da and Mr. Wang Shengyan won the contest. They will go on to a world-renowned model show in Paris later this year, presenting outfits that showcase Chinese culture.
The fancy lighting design and beautiful music made Wuhan’s cold weather warm again.
30 competitors, from different regions, took to the final stage, after a preliminary contest in June, 2012.
They competed through 4 rounds, which featured an evening dress, fur clothing, swim wear and the classic Qipao.
The beautiful models donned the Qipao, to traditional Chinese music in the final round.
After several rounds of stunning performances, the top ten finalists emerged. Miss Zhang Da, who was born in the 1990s in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, won the contest.
Su Sha, Director of The Judges' Panel, said, "Miss Zhang Da, is a very professional competitor. Her performance was very impressive and domineering."
Su Sha, the director of the Judge’s Panel, said that the winning models will participate at the Chinese International Fashion Week in Paris later this year. They will demonstrate traditional Chinese culture on the world fashion stage by introducing Qipaos featuring traditional Chinese characteristics.
Zhang Da, Contest Winner, said, "I think being a model requires overall abilities besides one’s appearance and figure. I will improve my abilities and try to show a good Chinese image on the world stage."
The 3rd Paris-China International Fashion Week Model Contest was co-hosted by the European International Federation of Models, the Austrian Chinese Culture Education Association and Hubei Literary Theorist Association.
