There's plenty of cultural exchanges like that taking place in China, too. The Bollywood musical "Taj Express" is hitting the road here. Its nationwide tour has kicked off in Nanchang and Haikou, and now it is thrilling audiences in Guangzhou.
"Taj Express" tells the story of a poor boy named Vasu who made an unforgettable journey with his muse Meera, a girl from a wealthy family. They make an exhilarating and vibrant journey from Mumbai, the city of dreams, to Agra, home to the Taj Mahal.
Taj Express is not just a typical Bollywood-style show. It has an incredible mix of new pop and deep-rooted traditions. The show features over 300 extravagant costumes, 500 accessories, spectacular sets, and magical and toe-tapping music.
Audience Member said: "I like the the Indian style show. The music, the rhythm, and the dance are very good."
"Taj Express" debut in India in July, 2011. Its world premier in Singapore last year received solid reviews. The China tour started in Nanchang and has travelled to Haikou, Xiamen, Wuhan and Zhongshan. The performance in Guangzhou lasts until January 12th.
