Chinese team shone in the Olympic Games in London
From July 27 to August 12, the world's attention was focused on the Olympic Games in London. Chinese sports team took the second place on the medal table with 38 gold medals, 27 silver medals and 22 bronze medals, showing that Chinese comprehensive strength in sports reached a new height.
Rise of Chinese swimming team shocked the world
Breakthroughs made by Chinese swimming team in 2012 were joyous and shocking. Sun Yang’s roar after breaking the world record may live in our memory; sweet smiles of Ye Shiwen when she stood on the award platform were enough to excite Chinese sportsmen.
Chinese athletes won five gold medals in swimming, and Sun Yang rewrote Chinese history of winning no gold medals in swimming, as well as hit a world record for 1500-meter freestyle swimming. Ye Shiwen from Zhejiang won two gold medals and broke the world record for 400-meter. Jiao Liuyang won the championship of 200-meter butterfly stroke.
