One year after his graduation from college, Yu Jiang has been successful in business by running four family hostels in Xiamen, Fujian province, Jiangxi Daily reported on Monday.
Yu, 23, decided to open a family hostel after returning from the Tibet autonomous region last July, when the science major was about to graduate but had not secured a job.
The son of a migrant worker from Jiangxi province, Yu started his business with money borrowed from his friends and schoolmates.
Now Yu has 19 rooms in four houses he rents in Xiamen.
Yu worked many part-time jobs in college, such as selling books on taobao, a major online shopping service provider in China, and working at a restaurant, which gave him valuable experience that helps him run the hostels.
