ADB assistance hits 21.57 billion USD in 2012

MANILA, April 22 (Xinhua) -- The Asian Development Bank (ADB) said in its annual report released on Monday that it approved 21. 57 billion U.S. dollars in financing operations including co- financing in 2012.

Of the 21.57 billion U.S. dollars, the Manila-based lender said 13.3 billion U.S. dollars was financed by ADB and Special Funds while 8.27 billion U.S. dollars was provided by co-financing partners.

In 2012, operations were concentrated in five core areas: infrastructure, environment, regional cooperation and integration, finance sector development, and education. ADB said it continued to focus on its three key development agendas of inclusive growth, environmentally sustainable growth, and regional integration.

The annual report was released ahead of the ADB's 46th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors scheduled on May 3 to 5 in Delhi, India.
