From Jan. 7 when sales of train tickets for the Spring Festival began to Feb. 17, 93 million out of the total 257 million tickets were sold online. The highest proportion of net sales came on Jan. 28 when 3.6 million out of the total 7.4 million tickets were sold online on that day, accounting for 49.1percent. The Internet is changing consumption patterns.

Since the beginning of the Spring Festival travel peak this year, the official train tickets booking website 12306 has sold about 40 percent of the total national railway tickets, while in last year, this proportion was only 20 percent. Soaring online ticket sales became the feature of this year's Spring Festival travel.

Three years ago, when people were still queuing up in cold wind to buy one ticket to go home during the Spring Festival, who would have thought that today they can sit at home drinking hot tea, and get the ticket by clicking mouse?

With various choices, convenient purchasing, high quality consumer experience, the Internet has changed people's consumption patterns. In the era of online shopping, the revolution of the consumption patterns narrows the gap between supply and demand. While constantly optimizing the consumer experience, it further unlashes the consumption potential.

Consumption patterns change and the business model is also witnessing innovation. Different from the traditional "sold and then it's none of my business" marketing concepts, there is more and more components of "experience economy" in online shopping. The reputation online has become incentive mechanisms of the market, promoting businesses to pay more attention to product quality and integrity. At the same time, businesses operating costs get lower, transaction efficiency rises, logistics and express industry is booming, offering more and more jobs, and all these contribute to the overall economic and social development.

Online shopping is not only related to the further innovation of the business model in China, but is also a great starting point to promote green consumption patterns; it also plays an important role in the expansion of domestic demand, so it has infinite prospects.
