Reporters learned from the General Administration of Customs, in 2012, China's exports of cultural products totaled 21.73 billion US dollars, an increase of 16.3% over last year.
In 2012, China's cultural products exports witnessed faster growth in emerging markets such as Latin America, ASEAN and Africa. Exports to Latin American amounted to 1.72 billion US dollars, an increase of 72.2%, which is 7.9% of whole exports; exports to ASEAN was 1.54 billion US dollars, an increase of 12 0% percent, accounting for 7.1%; exports to African was1.36 billion US dollars, an increase of 120%, accounting for 6.3%.
The top three exporters are Guangdong, Zhejiang and Fujian, while Chongqing and Jiangsu had rapid export growth.
Among China's exports of cultural products in 2012, exports of visual arts products totaled 14.21 billion US dollars, an increase of 52.5%, accounting for 65.4% of China's total cultural products exports for the same period. Over the same period, exports of printed products reached 2.85 billion US dollars, an increase of 7.1%; export of audio-visual media products totaled 2.84 billion US dollars, a decrease of 44.2%. In addition, the export of musical instruments reached1.49 billion US dollars, an increase of 6.6%.
