2013, the doomsday for entity shops?

"Gome will occupy over 30 percent of Hong Kong's electrical retail market." Industry's heavyweights still remember such remarks when Gome made high-profile entry into Hong Kong 10 years ago. But 10 years later, Gome announced its complete withdraw from the Hong Kong retail market.

Gome's withdrawal may be just the beginning. International Finance News reports say foreign retail giants including Carrefour, Wal-Mart and Tesco have been shutting down, or are to start closing more stores in China.
