BANGKOK, Jan. 22 -- A core leader of Thailand's United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship, better known as "red shirts," was shot on Wednesday morning in northeastern province of Udon Thani, local media reported.

After being shot in his residence, Kwanchai Praipana was rushed to a nearby hospital, according to the Nation newspaper.
