Afghan intelligence agency on Monday arrested a would-be suicide bomber in eastern province of Kunar.
"Personnel of Afghan National Security Directorate (NSD) during a special operation captured a suicide bomber named Ismahil in eastern Kunar province," the intelligence agency said in a statement without providing details.
The militant, loyal to the Taliban outfit, tried to carry out a suicide attack in Narang district bazaar in southern part of the provincial capital Asadabad, it noted.
The Taliban, which intensified their attack across the country, has yet to make comments.
Earlier on Monday, three suicide bombers were killed and 41 NATO oil tankers and supply trucks were destroyed when militants launched attack on a coalition base in neighboring Nangarhar province.
