BOGOTA, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Colombian police said Sunday that they seized more than 3 tons of marijuana in four different locations in a town in northern Magdalena department.
The police said in a press release that the 3.436 tons of the contraband drug was found in the process of drying, thanks to a tip from a source.
The cache, according to the authorities, belonged to an organized crime ring known as Los Urabenos, which is active in the local area of the Andean country.
The marijuana was ready to be pressed, packed and shipped for distribution, said the police.
The statement made no mention of arrests being made in relation to the seizure.
