BEIRUT, June 7 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and five others were wounded in Friday's renewed clashes in Lebanon's northern port city of Tripoli between armed Salafists and gunmen loyal to Damascus and Hezbollah.
A local security source told state-run National News Agency ( NNA) that the fatal clashes took place in the old souks area, and the victim was identified as Toufic Shalabi.
Meanwhile, several other people were wounded in clashes in such areas as the old market, and the areas of al-Nahhasin, al-Rifaiyeh and Bab al-Hadid, between armed men and some members of the al- Nashar family that is loyal to the Syrian administration and Hezbollah, according to the NNA.
On Thursday, one person was killed and seven others were hurt in fierce clashes between the al-Nashar family and armed Salafists from the Hajar family, who back the Syrian rebels.
