AMMAN, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Jordan warned Thursday that it may consider Syrian Ambassador in Amman Bahjat Suleiman a "persona non grata" if he continues giving remarks against the country's civil and military establishments, state-run Petra news agency reported.
Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said the Syrian ambassador in Amman crossed all diplomatic principles through his announced and secret meetings as well as repeated statements against the country, stressing that such statements are rejected and condemned.
The ambassador has already been warned to stop such statements or acts, including articles on social media networks that harm Jordan, which is home to hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees.
He said Jordan rejects Suleiman's repeated statements against Jordan's establishments.
Judeh said this should be considered as a final warning to the ambassador, adding that the country will take a series of diplomatic measures against the ambassador.
