BANGKOK, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Five Thai soldiers were killed in a road-side bomb explosion in shouthern Thai Province of Pattani on Friday.
Thai media reported that the bomb was detonated by Muslim insurgents in the southern part of Thailand to ambush a unit of rangers in Moo 4 village inTambon Buarae in Sai Buri district at 10:50 a.m..
The rangers were returning to their base in their pick-up truck after keeping security at a Buddhist temple.
One soldier was wounded in the blast.
