SEOUL, March 13 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Park Geun- hye said Wednesday she will resolutely defend country's security to deal with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s threat of military action ,according to the Yonhap news agency.
"But if North Korea seeks changes, (South Korea) will make efforts to give support to the impoverished country," Park said in a speech during a lunch meeting with social elders. She said that the security situation in South Korea is very grave.
"No matter what sacrifices takes, I will make sure to make the Republic of Korea and its people in safe situation," Park added.
Park's remarks came after the DPRK said on Wednesday it would take severer measures against ongoing South Korea-U.S. joint military exercises and the United Nations sanctions for its nuclear test.
