TEHRAN, Jan. 27 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi inaugurated on Sunday a production line of a short-range air defense system called Ya Zahra, Press TV reported.
At the opening ceremony, Vahidi said "This defense system has the capability of detecting, tracing and destroying short-range aerial targets such as aircraft, helicopters and drones."
Other features of the system include: destroying multiple targets simultaneously, high speed operation and automatic tracing, the Iranian defense minister was quoted as saying.
Iran first tested Ya Zahra missile system during a military maneuver in November 2012.
