MOSCOW, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- A tree fell on a gondola line Sunday at the 2014 Winter Olympics resort of Rosa Khutor in Sochi, leaving some 75 people evacuated, the RIA Novosti news agency reported.
Over 80 people participated in the rescue effort, which lasted for two hours. No one was injured, the rescuers said.
A spokesman for the cableway operator confirmed the normal operation has been resumed.
Built some 40 km from Sochi, Rose Khutor is to hold several Olympic test events in the coming weeks, including stages of the FIS Alpine skiing, snowboard and freestyle skiing World Cups.
The Sochi Olympic Games under the motto of "Hot. Cool. Yours." will open on Feb. 7, 2014 and run until Feb. 23.
