AMMAN, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- A Jordanian court on Sunday sentenced former intelligence chief Mohammad Dahabi to 13 years in prison, state-run Petra news agency reported.
The court also ordered Dahabi to pay a fine of 21 million Jordanian dinars (30 million U.S. dollars), the news agency said.
The ex-intelligence chief was arrested in February pending further investigation and has been in custody ever since.
Dahabi, who was intelligence chief from 2005 through 2008, was accused of money laundering amounting to some 30 million dinars ( 42 million U.S. dollars), according to local media reports.
