China's President Xi Jinping has reiterated his determination to fight corruption, saying the fight was grim and complicated but that the party will maintain great pressure to root out official graft. Xi Jinping made the remarks at a meeting held by China's anti-corruption watchdog, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.

Xi recalled significant progresses made by the Communist Party of China last year. He said the party must "continue to beat the tigers and flies together", meaning both high-level officials and lower-officials, to tackle corruption. Xi urged a deepening of reform and improving channels for people to report on graft and strengthening supervision and transparency. Xi vowed that no exceptions would be made in the corruption drive and no leniency granted, adding: "Power should be restricted by the cage of regulations."

President Xi called for a zero-tolerance approach toward corruption in the political and legal systems and said anyone who breaks the law will be strictly punished. President Xi warned all officials not to take any chances.

The Communist Party of China has stepped up and hastened its fight against corruption since the Party's new leadership was unveiled in November 2012. By the end of 2013, more than 30 thousand party officials were investigated and punished, among those at least 18 officials were at or above the ministerial level. Reporting channels have been set up on an official website to ensure public supervision and cleanness of the government.
