The second series is Chinese magnolia fossil from the Miocene of the Tertiary period, about 25 million years ago. It was found in seven counties in Yunnan Province with three of such counties being Jinggu (Meichang), Jingdong (Tianxin) and Lancang (Mengbin) in Pu'er.

The third series is the large wild tea tree which is 25.6 meters high and more than 2,700 years old at Qianjiazhai Village, Zhenyuan County. In April 2001, during the 3rd China Pu'er Tea International Symposium, the monument with the inscriptions "Unmatched Tea King of the World" was erected, and in the same year, the tree obtained the certificate for Guinness World Record.

The fourth series is the Bangwei transitional ancient tea tree which is 11.8 meters high and over 1,000 years old in Lancang County. Examinations show that its reproductive organ is of a wild type, while its vegetative organ is of a cultivation type. The big tree is a transitional tea tree the ancient Pu people living in Pu'er City domesticated and cultivated and still lives till now and thus, it is a piece of valuable cultural relics. In April 1997, China Post and Telecommunication Department issued a set of four stamps themed with "tea", one of which adopted Lancang Bangwei ancient tea tree as the design theme, thus making the tree well-known both at home and abroad.

The last series is the 10,000-mu cultivated ancient tea plantation, which is situated at Mangjing on Jingmai Mountain of Lancang County. It is a primitive ecological tea plantation that has been passed from ancient Pu people living in Pu'er City down to their descendants, that is, Blang and Dai people. With a history of 1,800 years, the tea plantation currently covers an area of 28,000 mu. In February 1997 when the 2nd China Pu'er Tea International Symposium was held, Chinese and foreign experts and scholars made field investigation in the plantation and reached the consensus that it was a relatively well-preserved cultivated ancient tea plantation of China with a large area and a long history, and thus a piece of valuable agricultural relics. In 2012, it was approved as a world agricultural heritage by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Hence come five important series of phases for the development of tea trees: wide-leaf magnolia, Chinese magnolia ,wild tea tree, transitional tea tree, cultivated tea tree.
