The “Jinggangshan” is ready to set sail on the morning of March 9. Approved by Central Military Commission, Chinese Navy sent the ships to participate in search and rescue work for MH 370. At 11:50 p.m. on March 8, the missile destroyer “Mianyang Ship” in Nansha waters was ordered to rush to the incident sea. At 3 a.m., March 9, the amphibious landing ship “Jinggangshan”, carrying the medical team with 14 medical personnel, underwater search and rescue team with 10 divers, rescue army with 52 armed mariners, the rescue equipment such as rubber dinghy as well as two shipboard helicopters, set sail urgently from Zhanjiang Port.
