A flotilla with China’s South China Sea Fleet conducted an anti-piracy drill on Wednesday morning to strengthen its emergency response capabilities. The South China Sea Fleet is undergoing offshore trainings in the Southern Hemisphere currently.
Fighting piracy is a special power granted to navy warships by the International Law, and also a common practice for navies in the world, according to Zhang Hanchuan, who heads the flotilla. "Such trainings are of great importance to improving naval capabilities," said Zhang.
