Building in downtown Guangzhou burned out (3)

A high-rise building in downtown Guangzhou caught fire at 6:50 p.m. on Dec. 15. After the fire was put out, the building was burned out and only the framework remained.

The fire engulfed the building in a short time and it was very difficult to put it out because it was windy and there was a lot of clutter piled inside the building, according to fire department.

The fire fighters could do nothing with the fire burning above the 10th floor because the jets of water could not reach that height, said a local resident.
