Two people were buried and one child injured after a running train was hit by a mud-rock flow in central Chinese city Wuhan at 7 p.m. on August 16, local railway police said.

The accident occurred when the train was passing through Wuhan on its way to Xiangyang, central China’s Hunan province. Two passengers on broad were buried under the mud.

Rescuers arrived soon after they learnt the accident. The coaches were small and covered by mud and stones, which complicated rescue efforts. Rescuers had to dig the trapped passengers out of deep mud with bare hands. The saved passengers were then sent to hospital nearby. Witness said the two buried sat beside the window when the mud-rock flow slammed into the coach.

The train began running again after one-hour cleaning and inspection, and arrived at the destination on next day morning.
