Zhao Dekai: I would like to appreciate the government and reward my hometown with my efforts.
(Male, is a villager of Xinjiang Village, Maoya Town, Suiyang County, Zunyi City. In early 2006, Zhao Dekai left home for work. At first, he worked as a worker in a shoe factory in Dongguan, Guangdong, but afterwards, he began to take drugs under the influence of the wrong friends. In January 2007, Zhao Dekai was forced to return home for drug treatment, but not long after, drug addiction cracked him down again, and he was sent to Zunyi for compulsory isolation for drug rehabilitation for six months after being arrested for drug abuse in Yangchuan Town. After rehabilitation, Zhao Dekai started his business under the support of the government at all levels and relevant departments. He took the first step of his business in 2008 by brewing wine and raising pig; he established “Lifeng Crop Planting Professional Cooperatives” in January 2012, and has planted 100 mu of tobaccos, 130 mu of Korean peppers, and raised 50 pigs in 2012. The annual income is expected to exceed 500,000 Yuan, with net profit of 160,000 Yuan.
Zhao Dekai not only got rehabilitated in the treatment center, but also started his business during the rehabilitation process; more importantly, he also provided job placement for one rehabilitated drug users, and two disimprisoned person in his business. On the other hand, he often does farm work for villagers with the three rotary cultivators bought with government subsidies free of charge except the costs for the petrol. He is trying to reward the government and his howntown with his own efforts. In 2012, Zhao Dekai was rated by Guizhou Provincial Narcotics Control Commission as an Excellent Entrepreneur of 2011 and 2012 for his outstanding performance in the “Sunshine Project” – a project on community-based rehabilitation.)
