2012: A year to remember (4)

"Dreams come true" and "cross the threshold"

The realization of any dreams is not as simple as it looks but long journey has to be taken and threshold has to be crossed. Some thresholds are invisible because they are in the heart.

Like a dream, Mo Yan, an ordinary man who grew up beside the sorghum field in Gaomi, Shandong, seems to suddenly become a hero of China to stand on the podium of the world. The "Nobel Literature Prize dream" which the Chinese people have had an unsettled mind for many years was fulfilled. The winner's speech described the hardships behind and the long journey crossed.

In 2012, "China Dream" is unable to be avoided whenever people talk about dreams. "China Dream", changes from a wine advertising message, to a Totem of national ideal in just an instant – when General Secretary Xi Jinping mentioned these three characters in his speech during the visit to the "Road to Revival" exhibition on Nov. 29.

Of course, in 2012, for countries such as Japan and the Philippines, it is another psychological threshold that they must learn to cross: China cannot and will not make concessions on the issue of territorial sovereignty. Only by stepping over that threshold, can everyone smoothly enter 2013.

2013 is coming.

I will miss 2012.
