A hostage taking incident took place in a parking space in the southern suburbs of Xi'an on the afternoon of Dec.10, 2012. A man suspected of carrying explosives hijacked a 10-year-old girl by driving a black Mercedes-Benz car. The local police followed the hijacker by taxi. Eventually, the taxi driver forced the hijacker's car to stop and police officers successfully rescued the hostage and arrested the suspect.
