6 people feared drowned after boat capsizes in eastern India

NEW DELHI, June 16 (Xinhua) -- At least six persons were feared to have died when they fell into a river after their boat capsized in India's eastern state of Bihar on Sunday, a police officer told Xinhua over phone.
The incident occurred in the Barh area near the state capital city of Patna. A total of 17 people were on board of the ill-fated boat when it capsized.
While 11 people could be saved, six persons were missing. The boat capsized in the middle of the river Ganga while it was travelling from Umanath Ghat to Diara, said the local police.
According to media reports, the rescue operation was on to locate those who were missing.
