China's futures market sees higher trading turnover in April

BEIJING, May 12 (Xinhua) -- China's futures market reported double-digit year-on-year growth in trading turnover last month, industrial data showed.
Total trading turnover reached 56.74 trillion yuan (about 7.99 trillion U.S. dollars) in April, increasing 28.49 percent year on year, according to data from the China Futures Association.
The market's trading volume topped 666 million lots last month, edging down 1.01 percent from a year ago, the data showed.
In the first four months, its turnover expanded 9.6 percent over the same period last year, while trading volume shrank 6.86 precent, the association said.
As of the end of April, a total of 131 futures and options products have been listed for trading in China's futures market.
