BEIJING, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Qiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Wednesday chaired a symposium to hear opinions and suggestions from leaders of non-CPC political parties and the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), and representatives of persons without party affiliation on the draft government work report.

Noting China's solid steps over the past year in building a modern socialist country in all respects, the personages attending the event raised suggestions and voiced opinions on topics including government work related to macro-control, scientific and technological innovation, fostering emerging industries, invigorating market dynamism, and advancing green development.

Li expressed gratitude to non-CPC parties, the ACFIC, as well as people without party affiliation for their support for government work, saying that the opinions and suggestions were of great value both for the improvement of the draft government work report and for the government to improve its work.

Li said that 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and a crucial year for realizing the goals and tasks for the 2021-2025 period.

The premier called on people to scientifically grasp the situations both at home and abroad while remaining cool-headed, and to make concentrated efforts in advancing the country's causes.

The premier said that the policies and work arrangements of the CPC Central Committee will be fully implemented and that the government strives to effectively achieve concrete results on major economic and social development tasks.

Li urged non-CPC political parties, the ACFIC, as well as people without party affiliation to continue to provide support in the government's democratic and scientific decision-making, the building of broad consensuses, and the contribution of wisdom, paving the way for the nation to achieve this year's economic and social development goals.
