HKSAR LegCo delegation begins visit to Fujian Province
HONG KONG, July 15 (Xinhua) -- A delegation of the Legislative Council (LegCo) of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) began a five-day visit to east China's Fujian Province on Saturday to learn about the latest development of the coastal region's high-quality industries.
President of the HKSAR LegCo Andrew Leung, who is leading the delegation, told the press that the LegCo is once again conducting a visit to the Chinese mainland after a trip by all LegCo members to mainland cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in April, fully demonstrating the LegCo's emphasis on promoting communication and cooperation with various provincial-level regions and cities in the mainland.
Hong Kong is the largest source of foreign investment and a major export market for Fujian, which perfectly reflects Hong Kong's unique advantages of enjoying the strong support of the motherland and being closely connected to the world under "one country, two systems," Leung said.
The delegation will tour two cities of Fuzhou and Xiamen, and also visit key facilities and projects related to local history and culture, finance and trade, shipping and logistics, innovation and technology, as well as communications, to understand the latest developments of high-quality industries in the region and explore ways to deepen cooperation between Hong Kong and Fujian in various fields.
