Time-honored brands of China's Zhejiang Province seek opportunities in Macao, PSCs
MACAO, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Time-honored brands from east China's Zhejiang Province have displayed their quality products in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), aiming to seek opportunities in the SAR and Portuguese-speaking countries (PSCs).
Over 130 enterprises with time-honored brands showcased more than 30,000 commodities in a three-day fair that concluded on Thursday, alongside some 20 local Macao businesses.
Chen Kehua, inheritor of intangible cultural heritage for making Zongzi, a kind of rice dumpling traditionally made for the celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival, said that they have felt the enthusiasm of Macao consumers at the fair.
"We are planning to build a factory in Macao so that more local residents can taste our Jiaxing Zongzi with a history of 115 years," said Chen, who is chairman of Yuzhuangyuan, a Zongzi manufacturer in Jiaxing City of Zhejiang.
Zhang Xiaoquan, a household brand name based in Zhejiang's provincial capital Hangzhou with a history of over four centuries, displayed their signature kitchen knives and scissors.
The company said that it hopes to open stores in Macao in the future and help bring its products to PSCs markets.
The fair was organized by Zhejiang provincial authorities to promote economic and cultural exchange and cooperation between Zhejiang and Macao.
