China's police chief meets Ethiopian counterpart

BEIJING, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong met with Demelash Gebremichael, commissioner general of Ethiopia's Federal Police Commission, in Beijing on Thursday.
Wang briefed Gebremichael on the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and this year's "two sessions."
China is ready to work with Ethiopia to actively implement the China-proposed Global Security Initiative, and to strengthen personnel exchanges and the building of cooperation mechanism, Wang said.
China will deepen pragmatic cooperation with Ethiopia to ensure the security of Belt and Road cooperation, combat transnational crime and build law enforcement capacities, in order to bring more benefits to the people of the two countries, he added.
Gebremichael said Ethiopia attaches great importance to friendly cooperation with China and is looking forward to strengthening the two countries' law enforcement and security partnership and pushing forward bilateral relations.
