TASHKENT, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang was invited by Uzbekistan's Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov to board a brand-new Chinese-made new energy bus here on Wednesday.
Saidov praised Chinese manufacturing, saying that Uzbekistan welcomes Chinese new energy vehicles to enter the Uzbek market and people's lives.
He said his country is satisfied with the high intelligence and comfort of Chinese-made new energy buses, and looks forward to expanding innovation and high-tech cooperation between the two countries.
According to the personal instructions of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan is purchasing 2,000 new energy buses from China by Chinese automakers Yutong, King Long and BAIC and others, to improve public transportation services in major cities such as the country's capital.
The first batch of 350 buses has arrived in Tashkent, all equipped with air-conditioning, facilities for the disabled, and one charging port for each seat, with a range of over 300 km per charge.
