Chinese FM meets with UN political affairs chief

BEIJING, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang on Tuesday met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs Rosemary A. DiCarlo in Beijing.
Qin said that, guided by the vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity, China has taken part in the work of the UN in a comprehensive way, firmly fulfilled its international obligations, actively advocated for solidarity and cooperation, and provided global public goods.
"China will firmly support the UN in playing a constructive role in pressing international and regional issues, and is ready to be a credible and reliable partner of the UN in maintaining world peace and promoting common development," Qin said.
For her part, DiCarlo expressed the hope that the UN will deepen cooperation with China and jointly propose more solutions for pressing international and regional issues.
