All sides should keep calm and avoid escalation, China said on Wednesday in response to explosions in eastern Poland.
Missiles reportedly hit the Polish city of Hrubieszow near the Poland-Ukraine border on Tuesday, killing two Polish citizens.
"All sides need to stay calm and restrained to avoid the escalation of situation," Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Mao Ning said at a routine press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday.
"China's position on the Ukraine issue remains consistent and definite. The most urgent task is to conduct dialogue and negotiations to solve the crisis peacefully."
