Rainforest experience activity kicks off in in south China’s Hainan

A live-action performance showcasing the idyllic scenery of south China's Hainan Province was held in Maona village, Shuiman township, Wuzhishan city, Hainan, at the opening ceremony of the 2022 "Rainforest and You" experience activity on Nov. 13, 2022.

The show was presented by performers from the Guangdong Song and Dance Theater, together with more than 400 local residents in Wuzhishan city. Made up of five chapters, the show depicted the beauty and prosperity of the rural area in Hainan, featuring rainforests, nature, ethnic groups and idyllic scenery.

At the opening ceremony, Zhang Huawei, deputy secretary-general of the Hainan Provincial People's Government, announced that Hainan plans to hold this event each year for the next five years, with parallel sessions of the events scheduled to be held in various cities and counties in the province, as part of a campaign to help one tropical rainforest experience area gain popularity each year during the five years.

The main venue for this year's "Rainforest and You" experience activity is located in the Wuzhishan section of the Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park, with its parallel venues located in other areas in the park.

The event is scheduled to run until the end of this year, with more than 10 activities under the themes of nature education, forest-based health and wellness, leisure and vacations, popularization of ecological knowledge, and wild animal and plant watching, among others, scheduled to take place during the two months.
