BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese path to modernization aims to seek a balance and leaves no one behind, which will lead to peaceful global development, former Bolivian President Evo Morales said in a recent interview with Xinhua.

On the sidelines of the launching ceremony of Runasur, a new regional integration mechanism promoted by Morales, held here in the Argentine capital, the ex-president stressed the importance of growth and China's experience to the region.

China always supports multilateralism and shares its development with the rest of the world, said Morales.

He added that in contrast with the Chinese way, those promoted by some Western countries "have to exploit, loot, steal and concentrate capital in a few hands," and thus bring injustice and inequality.

"Modernization is not about being able to accumulate capital. The best way to modernize is to live in solidarity, in complementarity, in community," he said.

"To do that we must fight not only for individual rights, but for collective rights ... The best way to modernize is to guarantee basic services to the people of the world, that is the best way to modernize, so that we all have some equality and some equity on planet Earth," he added.

Having visited China several times during his presidency from 2006 to 2019, Morales highlighted the unconditional cooperation China offers to the Latin American and Caribbean region.

China shares what it has through investment and without any inequitable strings attached, and that is different from some Western countries, which set conditions when they invest, "such as privatizations," said Morales. "That is the profound difference."
