Xi's speech at meeting marking 1911 Revolution published
BEIJING, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- A speech by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at the commemorative meeting marking the 110th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911 has been published in English by the Central Compilation and Translation Press.
Xi, also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, gave the speech in Beijing on Oct. 9.
It was translated by the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee.
In his speech, Xi highly commended the historical achievements and great significance of the 1911 Revolution, which brought down the Qing government and brought about the establishment of Asia's first republic.
Xi looked back on how the CPC has gloriously carried forward Dr. Sun Yat-sen's revolutionary cause, uniting the Chinese people and leading them in tireless struggle. He also profoundly expounded the historic significance of the 1911 Revolution, and pledged strong resolve and determination to safeguard China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The publication will help readers gain better knowledge of the strenuous struggle and achievements of the Chinese people in modern times, as well as the bright prospects for national rejuvenation.
