Clinic fire injures 18 in east China

HANGZHOU, May 12 (Xinhua) -- A fire broke out late Tuesday at a clinic in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province, injuring 18, according to the Xihu district government.

Three of the injured people are in serious condition. The person in charge of the outpatient clinic has been detained.

The fire was put out at around 9:56 p.m. Tuesday.

Investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
