During the China-Laos industrial and commercial cooperation meeting held in Beijing on Jan. 6, people from the business circles of the two countries said that they are looking forward to strengthening complementary cooperation between the two nations.
Businessmen from Laos pointed out that in addition to deepening the trend of cooperation in infrastructure, real estate and other fields, Laos's agriculture, tourism, digital economy and other industries also expects more investment from Chinese enterprises.
Chambers of commerce and industry of China and Laos should further play the role of a bridge in enhancing bilateral economic and trade cooperation and serve for the close cooperation between enterprises of the two sides, according to Chanthone Sitthixay, chairman of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI).
The head of Lao Chinese Chamber of Commerce also believed that chambers of commerce are not only able to provide services for large enterprises, but also serve to promote more extensive business connectivity between small and medium-sized enterprises of China and Laos.
Meanwhile, there are also advantages of investment in Laos for Chinese enterprises, said Xu Ningning, executive director of the China-ASEAN Business Council (CABC), adding that such merits include a stable political environment, sustained economic growth and the implementation of open-up policies.
