BEIJING, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- China's National Ethnic Affairs Commission Wednesday expressed firm opposition to and strong condemnation of the passing of a bill on Xinjiang-related issues by the U.S. House of Representatives.
The passing of the so-called "Uyghur Human Rights Policy Act of 2019," despite China's strong opposition and stern representation, constituted gross intervention in China's internal affairs and blatantly trampled on international norms, the commission said in a statement.
The statement added that the bill is filled with bias against the Chinese government's Xinjiang policies, discredited Xinjiang's development achievements, and ignored the true feelings of people in Xinjiang.
