WASHINGTON, Nov. 12 -- U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) said Tuesday that a Russian national was extradited here and was charged for running two fraud websites.
Aleksei Burkov, 29, made his first appearance in a federal court Tuesday to face charges of operating two websites devoted to the facilitation of payment card fraud, computer hacking and other crimes, according to a DOJ statement.
Burkov, who arrived here from Israel Tuesday morning, was arrested by Israeli authorities near Tel Aviv in 2015 and his extradition was approved by an Israeli court in 2017.
