Advanced household waste disposal station starts running in NW China

(Xinhua)    15:17, October 24, 2019

BEIJING, Oct. 24 -- A low-temperature pyrolysis household waste disposal station has started operation in a village of Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of northwest China's Qinghai Province, Science and Technology Daily reported Thursday.

The village is located in Sanjiangyuan which is home to the headwaters of the Yangtze, Yellow and Lancang rivers and serves as an important water conservation area for Asia.

The new household waste disposal station covers 400 square meters, with 1.22 tonnes of daily waste-processing capability. It was constructed based on the high altitude, low pressure and low temperature of the farming areas of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, using flammable matters within the waste as pyrolysis fuel.

Household waste can be disposed in the station with low energy consumption and without smoke, said the report.
