Two giant pandas will soon return to China after staying in Canada for years. Before their departure, they were treated to a festive farewell party that has lasted for 3 days.
Among the four giant pandas that China leased to Canada, opposite-sex twins Jia Panpan (Canadian Hope) and Jia Yueyue (Canadian Joy) will be about 4 years old and are slated to come back to Chengdu Research Base of Giant panda Breeding in southwest China's Sichuan province shortly.
Before their returning home, the Calgary Zoo organized farewell activities between October 4 and 6. Such activities allow visitors to say goodbye to the twins.
Chinese consul general in Calgary Lu Xu expressed his gratitude to the staff of the zoo in an interview regarding the giant pandas, as well as the cooperation and hard work of the Chinese and Canadian panda researchers.
She believes the panda cubs will be able to continue their happy lives and help find each other's "ideal" mates when they return to their hometown.
